Gulf Shores Alabama Beach Wedding Photography-Dodson

We had a blast celebrating with Chris and Amber at their beach wedding at the Gulf State Park Beach Pavilion in Gulf Shores, Alabama!  These two are some of the most fun and laid back people you could ever want to meet.  We are so honored they chose us as the photographers to document their wedding day.  Chris and Amber love the beach so the white sandy Alabama beach made the perfect backdrop for our first destination wedding.

Amber chose to start her bridal prep at home among her closest family and friends.  There was something ethereal about the light in the room and Amber looked beautiful in her wedding dress.  And can we talk about that flower crown?  Gorgeous!  She wore beaded starfish barefoot sandals with her gown and it was the perfect addition to her bohemian wedding attire.  

Amber had so many special people involved in her wedding day so there was plenty of moments to photograph and lots of activity in the room.  

Her mom, sister and besties helped her get into her dress and jewelry. and then she gathered together the groom's sister and her friends for an emotional first look.  

I've personally known the groom's family since I was 14.  His sister and I are best friends and were practically joined at the hip during high school, so I got to know Chris when he was much younger.  A few years ago, their mom passed away.  Melissa, the groom's sister, would take her place in the Groom and Mother formal dance and it was only fitting that Amber had a special moment with Chris's sister right before her first look with her friends.  She also shared a story about her "something blue" which was a special ring that belonged to Chris' mom.  

There were so many unique and sentimental touches in the wedding decor.  A special seat was assigned at the front of the ceremony in honor of Chris' mom.  His sister even had special favor tags made from a copy of their mother's handwriting that simply said, "love."  There were six flower girls all dressed in white gowns and beautiful flower crowns.  The wedding party was kept small and intimate with only Chris and Amber's sisters and nieces in the processional.
